Shalini is well known in the trail and ultra-running community having finished 45 ultras, 22 of which were 100-mile races. With over a decade of trail and ultra-running and race directing for Terrain Trail Runners-STL, Shalini has toed the line at the infamous Barkley Marathons in 2018. Along with finishing Western States 100, Cruel Jewel 100, Angeles Crest 100 and Fat Dog 120 and more, with podium finishes at Ozark Trail 100, Run Lovit 100Mi, Massanutten Mountain 100 and Cloudsplitter 100Mi races.
Shalini is the founder of Terrain Trail Runners-STL and has been a full-time race director for over a decade and currently race directs 12 trail running events/races ranging from 5K to 100Mi. She also serves as the MUT (Mountain, Ultra, Trail) chair for USATF, Ozark Association representing trail and ultra-running in the region.
Shalini gives back to the trail community by serving as a volunteer for local non-profits such as GORC (Gateway Off Road Cyclists) to help maintain and built St. Louis local area trails. Her favorite community involvement is with Forest ReLeaf an organization that helps the local area communities to grow and plant trees for a healthy planet.
Shalini also donates funds from her races like the 963 Beulah Challenge, Rockin' Rockwoods 13.1 RUCK, Ozark Foothills 25K RUCK , Babler Bongo 15K RUCK and Thunder Chicken 100K Stage Races towards various community projects. At the heart of all this is STL Women’s Trail Summit, a free community event that she puts out annually to bring together women in the outdoors.
Shalini got her RRCA level 1 coaching certification in 2018 and has been an endurance trail and ultra-running coach since then.
